Sorry for the late update, but the Parkrose Heights Fall Festival chili cook-off, craft fair, and screening of The Great Pumpkin is TODAY, October 25th, at 4pm at Parkrose United Methodist Church: https://www.facebook.com/events/1344846824003872/
Treasury updates
Klint shared the treasurer’s report, which is now up to date. The District 1 Coalition covered the overages from the summer event. Allison said during the meeting we don’t have to pay the District 1 Coalition back for this, but Ronda clarified by email after the meeting that we can pay it back. We will need to have board vote on moving funds from the communications fund to cover the overage.
District 1 Coalition update
The District 1 Coalition finally got a contract, but as of the meeting it had not been signed and the funds had not been released, so the organization was still in danger of shutting down (hopefully) temporarily.
Community Updates
Knott Park - No update on when the trail will be re-chipped, but Parks did send Barb Casey an email that we shared in the agenda (see our previous email for this).
Fred Meyer property - Unfortunately there isn’t much that can be done at the moment about the Fred Meyer property because it is privately owned. Prosper Portland owns the vacant lot next door, but they have a contract with a private developer who has three years to do something with the property. Malynda Valentine from Councilor Loretta Smith’s office recommends staying engaged with our councilors on the topic.
